Working in the service industry, namely in a hospital or correctional services facility, is quite demanding, especially when you have to serve people who did not necessarily elect to be there. As a result, there is a lot of damaged catering equipment which puts pressure on such institutions when it comes to financing.

Hospitals and correctional services would require reliable and hard-wearing catering equipment in order to be sustainable. Polycarbonate products are tough and virtually unbreakable. Here is a list of polycarbonate catering equipment that could benefit these institutions.

· Dinnerware

Plates and saucers are the most commonly used on a daily basis. It is used for serving lunch and dinner every day. As they are used so often the possibilities of them falling or breaking is quite high. In hospitals, some patients may not be in full control of their limbs and this could lead to plates and saucers falling and breaking. In correctional services institutions, some people may be unruly and deliberately cause breakages. With Polycarbonate Dinnerware if the plates or saucers fall on the floor they won’t break. It will only be the mess caused by the food that needs to be cleaned up.

· Cups and Plastic Glasses

A shaking hand or arm could be the reason why a cup or glass falls and breaks. A patient in a hospital may be recovering from an illness or an accident that has left them weak. This is out of their control, therefore Polycarbonate Cups and Plastic Glasses are ideal. In correctional services institutions glass, in general, can be quite dangerous as the people may use it as a weapon by breaking the cup or glass to expose sharp edges.

· Plate Cover

It is always a good idea to keep food dishes covered whilst taking it to the recipient. A plate cover keeps the heat contained as well as keeps the germs out. As the dish is being transported on the trolley from the kitchen to the recipient’s room, the food could get exposed to different air born germs. Keeping the food covered is hygienic. In addition, it is more practical if the plate cover is made of polycarbonate to prevent any damage to it.

· Caraf with Lid

Usually patients will request water. Serving it in a Polycarbonate Caraf with Lid is practical because it will keep the water contents covered.

Hospitals and correctional service institutions can benefit greatly from using polycarbonate catering equipment because it is tough, virtually unbreakable, and easy to clean.
